Physician Assisted Suicide

This presentation is part of the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Unmasked conference. This is a forum for presentations about projects around the COVID-19 crisis and abstracts that were part of canceled conferences this spring. In addition to Dr. Carroll’s presentation there is a full slate of intriguing presentations on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please feel free to join any/all that you like!

Catholics @ URMC…and Beyond!

Thank you to everyone who joined our Zoom meeting today at noon!  We had a nice turnout and great discussion!  It’s always refreshing to reconnect with friends and make new connections…especially in these trying times!

Our next Catholics @ URMC…and Beyond will be on June 18th.  We will post a Zoom link when we get closer, so check back here for this and other Guild upcoming events.

Catholics @ URMC 2020

We are excited to kick off 2020 by restarting our Catholics @ URMC meetings!

Catholics @ URMC is a collaboration between the UR Newman Center and the Finger Lakes Guild that aims to bring together Catholics, and non-Catholics, to provide mutual support for those working in the health professions.
 
We are planning to meet monthly at noon. We will open by praying Sext (the Midday prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours) and then have an open discussion about either a preselected topic or whatever may be on the minds and hearts of those in attendance.
 
Meeting Schedule:
  • January 7th
  • February 20th
  • March 2nd
  • April 1st

We will meet in the back right section of the Strong Hospital Cafeteria from 12:10 to 12:50pm each of these days. 

If you are not familiar with the Liturgy of the Hours fear not, you are not alone! It’s quite easy using the iBreviary app and we’ll all walk through it together.

U of R Welcome Back Mass

Please join us this Sunday (8/25) for 10:30am Mass at the Interfaith Chapel at U of R!

A picnic, co-sponsored by the Newman Community and the Guild, will immediately follow Mass.

This is a great opportunity to share worship, fellowship, and food with U of R students (undergrad, medical, and graduate), faculty, staff, local physicians and the community at large.
